Two Vintage Korean Mother of Pearl Chests. These Mother of Pearl Chests are over 50 years old, and inlaid with real Abalone Mother of Pearl. Each chest measures 22 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 20 inches tall. Imported from Korea.
Newer Mother of Pearl pieces are made from artificial Mother of Pearl which is very shiny and bright. Real Mother of Pearl has a dull appearance, and cannot be imported to the United States any more. The Republic of Korea is also limiting exports of vintage and antique Mother of Pearl items from South Korea.
